Re: DNG support

Well thery're not mine, but there's a sample gallery of Android DNGs at https://www.camerafv5.com/pages/raw-samples.php that exhibit the same problem. Thanks - I've been playing around with one of those. I can reproduce the blackness and failure to open the DNG in PSu as well as in Fast Picture Vie...

please define, what you consider "non-support". Do you mean that you cannot see your file as a picture
Yes, that - Android DNGs are solid black.
Very odd - If you are interested, I'd gladly look at one of your DNG's on my system to reproduce. Will you post a link to a file here?

Re: DNG support

PSU supports al kinds of DNG lossy as well as lossless. It doesn't support the DNG files from my Android phone - though since I use the phone to take JPGs and DNGs together, I can version them and view the JPGs. Odd, but please define, what you consider "non-support". Do you mean that you cannot se...

Re: DNG support

PSU supports al kinds of DNG lossy as well as lossless.

All DNG's embed a JPG within, which can be updated and which is, what PSU is showing.

I use exclusively DNG, and my DNG's from scanned film are lossy - they work just as well as my lossless DNGS from my digital cameras.

Re: What is your workflow?

A screen similar to a 2-image light table starts. On the left is the comparison image, on the right the image you want to compare. The term of comparison stays fixed and one can use the arrows to advance images on the right side. If at any point any image is found, which is better than the image on...

Re: Move the Custom Fields from the Info button to the Details button?

I don't get it...

I have a custom field below the standard ones in my info pane.

Re: Lightroom Workflow

I have Lightroom as my external editor from within PSU. I only organise in PSU, so everytime I start LR, I have to import the photo, and before exiting LR, I remove the photo again. I convert to DNG, so I have all my LR mods as a high-quality JPG embedded within my DNG. I assume, that that's the JPG...

That should help a lot with performance issues, I'm told. The actual pictures should be OK on an ordinary HDD or even a networked drive, but keeping the catalogue on the fastest disk is generally recommended.

Re: Catalogue icons

Hert, Thank for your reply. I have already experimented with different icon sets, mainly with flags. While most things work "OK" they are always a bit off, which I suppose is due to resampling artifacts when resizing to the category slots sizes. I do have one flag from the original default installat...

Catalogue icons

What are the recommended dimensions for icons selected for categories in the catalogue ? On a related note: Is the flag icon set delivered with the default catalogue downloadable from anywhere? I deleted most of the place hierarchy, as I didn't think I'd ever need it. I would, however, like to add f...

Re: International Characters

Like you, many of my pics have Icelandic person and place names. As long as I remain within the PSU ecosystem, I'm good, but I have had to correct names entered in one of the many DAM alternatives, I have tried out over the years.

In which respects...? Are you suggesting in the newer build some features were removed?

Beware, in some respects the update is a downgrade - I wish I could roll back.

Re: Sizing problem with DNG in image viewer

The Option "Load Full Size Images" works only for NEF files, not DNGs. For DNGs PSU's preview panel NEVER loads the full sized image, but ALWAYS the embedded preview (perhaps assuming that DNGs have full-sized previews embedded, which is not necessarily the case). I have been using DNG with full-si...
