Now I have XMP files completely excluded from backup.
That actually makes sense as the XMP is already backed up in the PSU database.

Re: Don't change date by writing XMP?

The thing is: if the file is now written then the "modification" time of the file should also be now. Setting it to the image date/time is "untrue". That's why we have dates in the metadata. That is the date that the image was shot. You should never use file dates (there are several) for metadata pu...

Re: PSU default categories?

If you camera records GPS coordinates then that about all you need. You can get the details for coordinates using a reversed lookup and that will be more precise than a city database stored in the camera

Re: Don't change date by writing XMP?

And what date/time would it then be? The time that is was previously written?

Re: PSU default categories?

PSU also writes the Events category with the Iptc4xmpExt:Event. The assigned catalog label that is within the Events category will end up in the Iptc4xmpExt:Event field. And assigned catalog bels in the People category end up in the Iptc4xmpExt:PersonInImage field. Both can be found in the IPTC Exte...

Re: Don't change date by writing XMP?

You mean write XMP but not have the file date of the XMP file changed? I'm afraid PSU won't do that. Reason is that the file dates should reflex the truth. If the file was updated then the date should change. Maybe your backup software has an option to only backup files that have their content chang...

Re: Someone with UltraTag+Pro Vocabulary here?

First of all; it is possible to import the UltraTag vocabulary to Photo Supreme (see the Data menu).

After importing I recommend, as Mke also suggests, to organize the relevant top level UltraTag items to the Photo Supreme categories.

Re: 10-bit color depth support

Hi Andrea, thank you for the link.
Any chance PSU will support this sooner or later?
PSU will always try to support formats used by a substantial part of its user base.

Re: 10-bit color depth support

Hi Andrea,

I assume you mean a 10bit color depth monitor? PSU will write to the monitor in 8bit. But that shouldn't be a problem for a 10 bit monitor. AFAIK the GPU is more what you should be looking for to support 10bit

Re: Re-Date Images

That means one step to set all 50 images to a fixed date. Then one step to redate all 50 image with cumulative shifting With cumulative shifting each image in the selected set (50 images in your sample) will have its date incremented one more; First image one second, second image two seconds, third ...

Re: Working with C1 Session - moving images

PSU will already do that, but only for SettingsXXX. The Cache folder is exactly that: Cache. That implies temporary information that will be rebuilt by C1 as needed.

Re: Re-Date Images

You could do that in two steps:
1. Set the date for all these images to a fixed date
2. Use cumulative shifting

If you're up to some scripting then you could also write a script that does it in one go. Though I'd use the two steps approach

Re: Catalog Category as dc:title?

If you don't want PSU to write the file name as the title by default (this is as per recommendation of the XMP/IPTC specs, so I vote against writing something else in the title field) then you can switch that off with a registry tweak. See this page for more info (search for FileName in Title): http...
