Re: PSU default categories?

Note that PSU can also accept a GPS trail recorded on a mobile phone, so you can still match up GPS coordinates with your images even if your camera doesn't record GPS data. Mke, how do you use PSU to match individual image files with the GPS coordinates that are recorded on a mobile phone? Never m...

Re: Hide Photo Supreme

Mike, I'm not a MAC user so I'm curious, isn't there a shortcut you can use to reach the desktop on a MAC? When I google it, several solutions come up. One suggests that you can specify a keyboard shortcut of your own. If you do keep a lot on your desktop, I would think it would be useful to have su...

Re: Keywords from dc:subject and Catalog entries

Hi R_Moeller, You might also want to check your preferences. I don't know this for sure, Hert might know, but if you have two labels with the same name and you assign them both to the same file, you could end up with duplicate keywords in the dc:subject field if your preferences are set to add keywo...

Re: Unable to clear State/Province

I'm only guessing here so ignore me if this doesn't apply to you. It sounds like you are trying to remove the metadata from your files by using the details panel. If you have labels assigned to those same files and the labels are configured to write metadata to the fields from which you are clearing...

Re: Labels assign to field "State"

Phosy, Now you're starting to understand the power of a label in Photo Supreme (PSU). It is the mechanism that makes managing metadata with PSU so efficient. If properly defined and structured, assigning one label to an image can accomplish a multitude of tasks. In general, it's always best to use l...

Re: Labels assign to field "State"

From your screen shots I will assume that when you say "Flag" what you mean in Photo Supreme terms is "label". A label can represent a keyword but it does not necessarily have to. I'm not a German speaker but with the help of Google I think I identified your issue. In the label details, under the Me...

Re: Image no longer dispalys - invalid size

That's odd. I don't recall specifying a file name with an extension. I let Photoshop rename it using the original file name. I would have sworn that Photoshop added the extension. I might have accidentally selected png as file type because that it what Photoshop defaults to in the export dialog but ...

Re: Image no longer dispalys - invalid size

It seems that using the "Export" function in Photoshop will result in a jpg with no metadata included. If I use the "Save As" function then the metadata does get embedded. I'm a little new to Photoshop so I could use some tips from anyone with more experience. What is the best way to export jpegs fr...

Re: Image no longer dispalys - invalid size

Hert, I just tried it again and did reproduce it. I'll send you a link to the file which I uploaded to my OneDrive. It's a full size jpg at 100% quality so it's very large. I did a minimum amount of processing to it and just exported it to jpg in Photoshop. I set the metadata setting in PhotoShop's ...

Hert,

I tried to reproduce it but couldn't. If it happens again, I'll be sure to send you a copy of the file.

Re: Image no longer dispalys - invalid size

Did you ever determine what was causing this issue? I just experienced the same issue last night. It happened when I opened a raw file in Photoshop, made some adjustments to it and then exported it as a jpg. I imported the jpg into my catalog by verifying the folder. Afterwards, I was not able to vi...

Re: Label / keyword hierarchy

Sorry for the confusion. What I was referring to is the setting to "process parent mapping". I always think of that as cascading but Stephen is right, that term is used in version sets, which is something else to consider but since you don't use version sets it's not the issue here. It is possible t...

Re: Label / keyword hierarchy

Stephen, Your pictures don't show all of your metadata settings. Do you have them configured to "cascade". I forget the exact wording of that setting and I'm not at a PC with PSU installed. I believe that metadata can cascade without labels being assigned. I'm not certain how that would affect keywo...

Re: Keyword Processing Options

Yes, I think I have it. However, I have 5,500+ images that contain keywords. I have over 6,000 images. That implies that I have 500 images that do not have keywords, correct? If I look at Images "Not Cataloge Labelled" I see that there are zero. I also see that there are zero images 'out of sync'. ...

Re: Keyword Processing Options

I realize that files can have keywords embedded in their metadata at the time they are imported into PSU and, depending on the read settings, those keywords can be saved to the Catalog. Of course, if that's the case then why would PSU need to write those keywords to the files? The keywords would alr...
