Re: beginner's questions: keywords, JPG+RAW etc

C1 unfortunately is notorious for ignoring metadata standards and even corrupting some XMP data, like lens info. This has been discussed at length at various places on this forum. Several PSu users even approached them, complaining about this metadata corruption and were told PSu is at fault.

Re: Server Edition and Single User

But the big question is - when I'm at home again, how I can always import my single user catalog from laptop into my server catalog? Yes, I did understand that question exactly and suggested this was not possible simply because SQlite and PostgreSQL are two different database formats. Therefore I s...

Re: Feature Request parents - children Keywordstructure

I think that is a fantastic idea and I have registered a similar request quite a while ago, i.e., the idea to be able to create templates to configure a whole branch of child keywords with certain default settings inherited from the parent. Sadly, I don't think that request ever received much attent...

Re: Server Edition and Single User

I presume this may perhaps work only if you only use the server version and do not switch. I doubt you can open the sever version of catalog with the standalone version and vice versa. AFAIK - the standalone uses SQLite and the server version hooks up to various different SQL backends, MySQL, PostGr...

Re: Labels assign to field "State"

I assume by "flag" you mean a label? Not that little icon (i.e., the flag of the country) that can be seen on many of the labels corresponding to a particular country? Anyway - I think, one reason, why you are possible struggling with this is because locality labels (= labels in the category "Places...

Re: batch file format conversion fails to save metadata

Are these TIFF files sync'ed in PSU? In other words, did you save the metadata to the files? Just trying to understand: why would you need to do this? Assuming that the files are derived from originals that already contained the metadata, why would you need to tell PSU to write those data to the de...

Re: Unable to eject USB discs when Photo Supreme is running

Hi Stephen, I did not mean to suggest to completely "ignore" the drives, but instead "ignore continuously monitoring them". That is a difference! Clearly, PSu should be able to recognize that a new drive is mounted without necessarily having to constantly monitor that drive for file changes. Besides...

Re: Unable to eject USB discs when Photo Supreme is running

This is a known issue. PSu is monitoring file changes and as soon as a drive is attached, PSu will start monitoring it causing the disk to be in use. This has been an issue since I first started using IDI and it still persists in PSu. I find it annoying. I typically end up just removing the drive, ...

Re: New User Qustion - Multiple Labels

Hi John, PSu now natively supports the Darwin Core xmp metadata fields, which allows you to embed taxonomic information such as the scientific name, the genus, common name, family name etc. into the relevant xmp fields. In my case I have a label category with the taxonomic hierarchy, the different t...

could remove from basket dialog be simplified?

Hi everyone, before submitting this to Mantis, I put this here for some user feedback.. When working with the image basket I would often like to quickly remove a few images. However, if these images are part of many different collections a huge dialog pops up and I need to be very careful to select ...

Re: Is it possible to display the day of the week in the Date panel?

Sorry Hert, please have a look at the screenshots below. Clearly PSu does NOT display the date in the details panel according to the Windows settings. On the left my windows settings dd-MMM-yyyy, on the right the way PSu displays the date dd-mm-yyy: PSU_TimeFormat.jpg Of course, what you say about t...

Re: Is it possible to display the day of the week in the Date panel?

PSU unfortunately is one of the few programs that insists on overruling the general Windows time and date settings. I have no idea why. On purpose I have my Windows Short Date set to dd-MMM-yyyy, today's date is displayed for example as 28-Apr-2017. PSU however insists on displaying that date as dd-...

Re: Using a PSu catalog on two computers?

Quite simple: Install PSU on both computers, then use a third party program such as SyncBack to keep the catalog files (idimager.cat.db and idimager.thumbs.db) synchronized on both computers. Now, put all your images on a removable drive. Hook up that drive to the computer you are using at a given t...

I regularly do the essentially the same and write "Londonx" and then simply delete the "x".
