Medien Browser vs. Katalog-Explorer

	Forum: Arbeitsablauf / Workflow
Date: 2012-02-04

Hallo,
Tastenkombination?
Danke und Gruß von Kay

	Date: 2012-02-04

Hert,

As you might recall, I've been a big IDimage fan for, what, 5 years and early on quite active in the forum - perhaps to your frustration trying to get the right color profile information to display for .NEF files and later involved with Mike with the early versions of the user manual.

About a year an a half ago I went from a Windows computer to a Mac. While I run Parallels and can (more or less) easily run Windows programs side-by-side with Apple, I have drifted more toward trying to use exclusively use Apple programs. Hence, less use of IDimage, much as i'd prefer to use it. There are only two programs that I've found lacking on the Mac side - a good file indexing program (e.g. like X1- I find Spotlight lacking in many many aspects) and IDimager.

So I opened the forum today, saw the beta for Mac and....

HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Frith

	Forum: IDimager Professional Questions
Date: 2012-02-03

Hi there,

Sorry for not describing in further detail.

The company I work for deals with lots of photos for print brochures and other booklets. We are trying to create an image catalog for a nationally renowned museum right now. While we have images coming in from them, the majority of work on the catalog is on pictures we have had on our server for years.

I imported these images and had IDImager apply labels from the folders they were in. I changed the name of the labels created from the folders from "Keywords" to "Original keywords." I then have been going through each of these and applying our own labels to the images.

I divided the labels as follows:

Keywords
Places (3 levels - "In museum" or "out of museum" -> different units of the museum -> different exhibitions/galleries)
Events
Projects (This is according to our own job codes)

IdImager first deleted the third level for all "Places" then deleted all of the labels in "Projects." Labels just got up and dissapeared one day.

I have stopped using IdImager for the time being until I get the problem fixed.

Please let me know of any details I am leaving out. Thank you for any help you can provide.

-Ross
